The world of Media and Fashion is often considered artificial but there are very few people like Faysal Quraishi who prove us wrong every once in a while. We have seen many celebrities who do support blood donation but there are very few on these who go the extra mile. Faysal is one of them.
It is said that Faysal Quraishi received a voice note from Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Care Center which said, “There’s been a sharp drop in the number of young, healthy, people donating blood to us, owing to the long summer vacations in Karachi’s colleges & universities. Our blood reserves have dried up and there is an urgency to replenish the supply. A failure to boost the number of young donors has now put a strain on the blood service for our thalassemia patients…Children are dying.”
After going through this voice note, he decided to do whatever he could in his power to make a difference. He asked ARY to let him do his Monday’s episode of Salaam Zindagi at KITCC and also used his personal Social Media profiles to get more people to come in and become a part of this noble cause.
We had the chance to have a small interview session with Pakistan’s favorite actor and TV Host Faysal Quraishi. This is what he had to say:
In an official statement, Faysal said: “I really want to support this appeal because giving blood is such an amazing thing to do. Blood isn’t just needed when people have accidents – it’s also used to help treat health conditions like cancer, thalassemia, long term illnesses and in maternity care. I would urge healthy people to consider blood donation as it takes only a little of your time, but can save lives…”
We were there on spot when the show took place and there were people who came in after listening to Faysal’s appeal for blood donation. It is no secret that celebrities have a very strong power when it comes to sharing things with the world and it is really amazing to see someone as famous as Faysal using this power for good. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors and again thank him for his initiative for supporting blood donation.
