Foodpanda and Pizza Max – Making your Mondays even more Horrible

There is nothing more horrible than a Monday – or maybe there is. Of course there is. It is not getting your lunch (read: Pizza) delivered to you on a Monday afternoon.

Imagine this. In the midst of all the chaos and frustration of the most dreadful day of the week you decide to make things better by ordering something nice to eat. You had been craving for pizza for some time (even though you are trying to be on a diet). You open Foodpanda (because you are too lazy to go get it yourself or call the place up directly) and see that Pizza Max is delivering in your area. You place your order and right then you receive an email saying:

You have tears of joy in your eyes because never before have someone said yes to you so instantaneously! But Foodpanda and Pizzamax did! And it was the happiest day of your life.

55 minutes? Pfft! Let me get some emails sent and the time will pass by. No worries. And then begins the long wait. 55 minutes pass by but you don’t wanna sound like an over-attached boyfriend so you give them some more time.

A few minutes aren’t so bad. Its okay, I have waited for other things my entire life. This shouldn’t be that bad. but then when you still don’t get a call from the restaurant, you start feeling a little distressed.

During this time, i received multiple calls from Khadija saying that she is on call with the restaurant and that they are saying its “On The Way”. After a while even she started feeling bad for what’s happening (and of course after when I mentioned that I run this platform) and said that their complaint department will get in touch with me.

As soon as the order was cancelled, i got a call from the restaurant manager saying that there was a miscommunication and that my order had someone else’s number and that it was a mistake on the part of the online platform and that they would appreciate if I didn’t blame them (read: Pizza Max) for this.

And for a moment, I was like:

At the end of this, Pizza Max also added that they did not do this on purpose and that they have just been able to track my number (Which magically appeared) and only then they were able to give me a call. Right at the moment when I cancelled my order. Meanwhile i’m yet to receive a call from the online food ordering platform’s team to explain the situation which i’m not too sure about at this point. Would they offer me a compensation? What good would that do? My Monday afternoon has already been made quite horrible.

So who is at fault here? The restaurant or the online platform? I don’t know and I asked their team to share the details once they find out the answer to that. Meanwhile, thanks to both of them, my faith from ordering food online has now shaken.
