EFU Life and the Beautification of Karachi- Meri Shaan Mera Pakistan

Beautification of public spaces in Karachi is one debate which has been going on since a very long time and art is something which is said to save us all. EFU Life’s Meri Shaan Mera Pakistan brought a corporate twist to the picture using both these elements.

Karachi has always been known for being the city of lights but somewhere in brightening the entire nation up and adding colors to their lives, a large portion of this beautiful city started getting covered in the darkness of wall chalking and deterioration, and though we have all started getting used to this deteriorating image of Karachi, a cleaner and better Karachi is something which each and everyone of us desires at some point in time. Be it when we have visitors from abroad or when we are traveling around the city with friends or family. This feeling of despair shivers down our spines whenever we look at old pictures of our beautiful city and what has become of it now. On the other hand, art is something which is known to make things beautiful and bring out its real pulchritude. Even if you are someone who doesn’t deeply follow the rules of art and craft, you would still accept the fact that whenever you look at a piece of art, it gives you an emotion.

Being an ex-employee of EFU Life, I know how much the management and the brand team wants to make a difference when it comes to making Pakistan better and last year, under the guidance of Commissioner Karachi, Mr.Ejaz Ahmed Khan, and his esteemed team of Commissioner Karachi Division, EFU Life took a step towards beautifying this city and to reclaim different spaces through thematic wall art. The theme was to depict Pakistan’s rich culture, national monuments and festivals using art and it came out beautifully.

Here is small gallery of the walls that were painted last year:

Now, after the successful completion of two projects in Karachi; a 2000 sq.ft wall at Ayesha Manzil and a 3000 sq.ft wall of NCC Sports Complex, they have now extended this project to a third location, the Aga Khan Park, Garden, opposite Ismaili Jamaat Khana covering a space of over 7000 sq. ft. We wish EFU Life best of luck for their endeavors and hope that make this an ongoing activity which inspires other companies to play their part as well.
